Writing has been one of my favorite aspects of school because it gives me a chance to be creative. Since Middle School, I always enjoyed taking a topic and trying to persuade people to its causes. This is one of my favorite methods of essay writings because I can become involved in the topic that I’m writing about. What I do not like about writing essays is the strict writing conventions that need to be followed. Over the years, the majority of my essay writings that my teachers make me do have been after reading a book. This has been some of my least favorite essays to write in school because of my lack of interest. Other writings have been on historic events where we explain its significance of our history. Writings I’ve done independently have mostly been letters, to teachers discussing grades in my class. I think that writing is a traditional academic skill set because clear and proper communication is important when handling important business. Teachers should give us more leeway when it comes to writing, because I don’t like the feeling of being constricted when writing.
