Josh Rittenberg hooked his readers when he mentioned his social life. I think this was so he could relate to the younger readers. He begins to explain how his father had a very pessimistic view on the future, and Josh began looking at his grandparents photo album. He explained how they saw two World Wars, killer flu, and segregation but how they also witnessed the end of two World Wars, the polio vaccine, and passage of the Civil Rights Laws. Then he begins to say how his generation will also see better things like his grandparents did. He believes that the future will bring good things which is why he titles the reading ‘Tomorrow Will Be A Better Day”
